In 1980 I moved to Texas. While there I developed a fondness for Mexican/Tex Mex cuisine, This was something completely new to me having grown up in the Philadelphia area. When I moved back to the area with 2 small children my parents had purchased a corner bar in North Wales. During my absence one or two Mexican restaurants had opened, but it was not what I had become accustomed to in Texas. With no experience I convinced my parents to let me open a Tex Mex restaurant within their corner bar.
We have always made everything in house from scratch. Over the years I have learned what I need from guests and staff alike who shared ideas and recipes. Michael and I have taken many trips to Mexico to learn more about the cuisine and also to bring back a bit of Mexico to North Wales. We are very proud of who we are and what we do.
Michael Klaiber / Chef
I have been at Tex Mex Connection for over 15 years. I started out as the prep chef and worked my way to chef and then general manager. Over the years I have had the privilege of working with some great chefs and traveled extensively through Mexico learning the ingredients and cultivating my style of cooking.
Kevin Gross -Floor Manager
Over the past 15 years or so I have worked in various sectors of the service industry, studied and lived in Europe for six months, attended the Restaurant School at Walnut Hill College in Philadelphia and traveled through Mexico. These experiences and the creative environment here enable me to enhance your experience as a patron at Tex-Mex. Our devotion to making dishes from scratch is what sets us apart and I’m glad to be a part of it.
