We started as a neighborhood restaurant with a simple idea: respect everything — the food, the people, the community, and the planet. That idea still drives every decision we make.

From the moment we open, our kitchen is prepping fresh — no shortcuts, just real food made from scratch daily alongside fine spirits at a great price.
Part of this community since 1984
Being part of a community is a privilege we take seriously. We host fundraising events, donate to dozens of charities, and anchor the annual 5K Race for Open Space — which has raised over $1 million for Wissahickon Trails and local causes since 1989.
Greener by design
We've been Three-Star Dine Green certified since 2009 — operating a no-gas kitchen, composting, sourcing locally, and maintaining 35+ years of full-scale recycling including a living roof.
Our team makes it all work
Our long list of tenured staff is the clearest sign that we take care of our people — with medical and dental benefits, a 401k, and paid vacation time. When you're welcomed by a familiar face here, there's a good reason for that.
